What is PAC ?
The Professional Aptitude Council (PAC), based in San Francisco with a corporate office in Bangalore , has recently launched a globally accepted pre-employment aptitude examination for IT professionals.
The PAC exam helps students distinguish themselves in the three areas that the industry considers crucial: applied technical skills, technical aptitude and personality.
The tests will measure not only how good a candidate is today, but also how good he will be in five years. The test, tailored to job function and seniority, is of 2 to 3 hours duration administered in secure facilities to validate the identity of test takers. The companies will be able to view code and writing samples. PAC exams are a complement to certifications because they focus on different aspects of a candidate's ability. Certifications provide a snapshot of a candidate's current knowledge. PAC exams provide a long-term view of a candidate's ability to apply technical knowledge.
Eligibility
All the IT students who are interested in getting into the technical jobs of IT sector are eligible of taking up this exam.
Exam pattern
The examination consists of 248 questions in nine different parameters.
The parameters of ‘Problem solving', ‘Linear logic' and ‘Mathematical ability' tests the general aptitude of the candidate.
‘Technical knowledge,' ‘Applied technical skills' and ‘coding skills' parameters examines his applied technical proficiency.
The parameters of ‘Creativity', ‘Work style' and ‘Focus' reveals his personality composite.
